Military Healthcare Experience

About Me

I am a senior Health and Safety professional with a keen eye for detail. My qualifications include a PG Diploma in Management via the City and Guilds of London, a former military healthcare professional with NHS experiences as well as several formal H&S diplomas and certificates including the advanced OH&S Diploma from UNB, NEBOSH and Lean 6 Sigma Green Belt.

I have detailed knowledge of legislation in both BC and Alberta and in depth experience in Mb, On, NWT and even Qc.

 

I hold a formally accredited teaching certificate gained whilst serving a full career in healthcare within the UK Armed Forces. 

 

I aim to bring credibility to safety consulting. Having held senior HSEQ positions for ESS Support Services ( Defence, Offshore and Remote Facilities Management) covering all of Canada and as a military senior leader within the UK Army Medical Services. In between these careers I worked in the UK North Sea providing safety support to several vessels and platforms including Drilling  Inspection, Maintenance and Repair as well as Diving Operations and Wind Farm Servicing. I have thorough experience with ISO's and I am a trained ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and Integrated Management System Auditor.

Strong hands-on experience working with platforms such as ISNET, Avetta, Comply Works and Cognibox. Well versed in pre-qualifications, administration and document submissions ensuring you meet client compliance standards.

Food safety is a particular strength. During my 11 years in Canada I oversaw and supported up to 30 remote camps feeding from 25 workers to 2500. Spending 10s of thousands of hours in these facilities ensuring not just food safety but also the quality the customer expects. The food safety journey started when spending over 2 years supporting the UK military inspection team in Germany between 2000 and late 2002. This then continued as my career progressed. This indeed assisted in securing a safety role offshore as one of his first vessels had recently suffered a work delay due to food borne illness.
